Family Devotional Time

CChrist

I just recently started reading a book titled, Praying Circles Around Your Children by Mark Batterson and I have already been challenged to do more as a Christian parent.  Though our children are only 2 and 9 months, they are still observing us. What we model and set as examples in front of our children, will help to create their worldview. I decided to start a devotional when they get up in the morning, and choose not to get frustrated or agitated when the 9 month old wants to babble or when the toddler says she’s hungry. They have to learn that it is very important for all of us to seek God when we first get up, God should always be first place in our lives. That’s not to say that some mornings it may seem almost impossible to do it, but we will choose to put Him first even as we tithe off the first of the income.

I chose a reading plan for our devotional entitled Rediscovering the Christmas Season on YouVersion. I want my children to understand the true meaning behind Christmas and the devotional is also challenging me to step it up for my own self.

What are you and your family doing to celebrate Christ this Christmas season?

God bless,

Carol
