Married Daddy’s Girls…

For all you “daddy’s girls” that are married: Ensure that you do not put your dad before your husband. If so, you are out of order and need to quickly change that! Eph 5:31 states, “As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”” —You are joined to your husband NOT your father; therefore, you and your husband are ONE. (Regardless of the actions of your husband…since you chose to marry him.) Also, Eph 5:23 states, “For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church.” — That clearly states husband…not daddy. If you are putting another man before your husband you WILL definitely have unneccesary conflict with your husband. You are to submit to your husband ONLY, not to every man!

You may say, “Well my husband does not act like Christ and does not show me love.” Well, let’s look at Eph. 5:24: “As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.” You are only encouraged to submit as the church submits to Christ. If your husband is doing something that contradicts Christ and His Word, you are NOT told to submit to that. Still yet, be respectful of how you approach your husband and your tone. Remember, Christ first then your spouse…in this way you can ensure that you are still obeying Christ and yet submitting to your husband.

God bless you and your marriage!

Once again I thank you for this! Though I’m not married yet, that’s one of the things I’m doing self-examinations regarding…ensuring that I keep my relationships in their rightful place. Once we exchange vows, there shouldn’t be a second thought as to what human relationship takes precedence yet I see how that can be problematic, especially if the Word isn’t being truthfully applied. May we all allow this post to provide us with #Selah (pause and think on it) moments and help foster whatever change we may need. I love you!
